New York-based Goldman Sachs has released its biennial list of managing directors. Asia is once again prominently featured.
At Goldman Sachs, 608 individuals across 44 offices have been invited to become managing directors as of 1 January 2024, according to a statement. This marks a decrease from 643 in the last list announced in 2021.
«Our 2023 class reflects the firm’s ongoing focus on advancing our strategic objectives, as well as on continuing to invest in our global footprint as we stay close to our clients around the world,» said CEO David Solomon and COO John Waldron.

Goldman appointed 31 managing directors in Bengaluru and Hyderabad – the bank’s tech offices. Elsewhere in Asia, 62 managing directors were named. Overall, the region accounted for 93 managing directors or around 15 percent of the worldwide total.
By ethnicity, there were 191 managing directors of Asian descent or 31 percent of the 2023 class.
