The Asia-based asset management arm of Prudential has announced the appointment of a chief investment officer.
Eastspring Investments has appointed Vis Nayar as chief investment officer (CIO), according to a statement, effective June 3. Based in Singapore, he will report to Eastspring CEO Bill Maldonado and become a member of the Eastspring executive management committee.
Nayar joins from HSBC Asset Management where he spent 25 years, most recently as global CIO for equities. Prior to that, he held other senior roles at the British asset manager including European and UK CIO, global head for quantitative equity research as well as head of systematic equities.
Operating since 1994, Eastspring Investments is an Asia-based asset manager and a part of British insurer Prudential. As of 30 September 2023, it had $216 billion in assets under management.
