Marex Adds First Singapore Hire to Capital Introduction Team
Marex has appointed an experienced professional to its expanding global capital introduction team, marking the firm’s first hire in Singapore. Her addition underscores the company’s strategic push into Asia.
Leah Teo will work closely with Marex colleagues in Hong Kong, with a focus on the APAC region, according to a media release on Tuesday.
Marex is a diversified global financial services platform, providing essential liquidity, market access and infrastructure services to clients in the energy, commodities, and financial markets.
The newly created role reflects both growing momentum in Asia and Marex’s commitment to serving an expanding client base of banks, hedge funds, investment managers, and family offices.
Rising Demand for Capital Introduction
Her arrival comes as demand for Marex’s capital introduction services reaches new heights. The business is a core part of Marex’s prime services offering, helping clients connect with the right investors and broaden their investment reach.
Teo brings extensive industry experience from her four years at Astignes Capital, where she specialized in investor relations, building institutional relationships, and supporting due diligence. Earlier in her career, she developed a solid background in fund finance.
Global Network
Marex’s capital introduction team spans the US, UK, Asia, and the Middle East, offering clients access to institutional allocators worldwide.
The team focuses on matching alternative investment strategies with suitable investors, driving capital flows, and expanding opportunities for institutional clients.
String of Appointments
Teo’s hire follows a string of recent appointments. Last month, Marex added Chris Lloyd in London to strengthen coverage across EMEA.
In June, Rebecca Kim became the first prime services team member in Singapore, highlighting the firm’s broader commitment to the region.
