HSBC Reshuffles Hong Kong Leadership
London-headquartered HSBC has announced a series of leadership changes to its Hong Kong business, including the appointment of CEO for the city and subsidiary Hang Seng.
HSBC has appointed Maggie Ng as CEO, Hong Kong, according to a statement. She has over 20 years of experience in the financial sector and joined the bank in 2020, serving since as Hong Kong head of wealth and personal banking.
Ng succeeds Luanne Lim who will become executive director and chief executive of Hong Kong subsidiary Hang Seng Bank, effective October 2025 and subject to regulatory approval. Lim joined HSBC in 1999 and has been its Hong Kong chief over the past four years.
In turn, Lim replaces Diana Cesar who will move to The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited to serve as vice chairman, Hong Kong. In the role, she will advise HSBC’s co-CEOs of Asia and the Middle East to best develop the Hong Kong business. Cesar also joined HSBC in 1999 and prior to her most recent position as Hang Seng CEO, she was the British lender’s Hong Kong CEO from 2015 to 2021.
