Eric Trump: «The Other Bitcoin Superpower is China»
Donald Trump’s son, Eric, Trump, was in Hong Kong last week for a crypto conference where he called China, alongside the US, a superpower in Bitcoin.
Last week, the Bitcoin Conference ran its Asia leg in Hong Kong, which saw hundreds of attendees and a lineup of industry leaders as speakers, including Eric Trump, the son of US President Donald Trump and vice president of The Trump Organization, a family-owned conglomerate with diversified businesses including crypto tokens.
During the Bitcoin Asia conference, the younger Trump touched on a variety of topics, including China’s crypto status.
«I don't know if I should say this but the other Bitcoin superpower in the world is China. That's one of the biggest markets for Bitcoin, Bitcoin miners, Bitcoin users,» he said.
Price Prediction: $1 Million
Bitcoin’s price in 2025 has seen its ups and downs, initially declining around 20 percent in the first four months of the year before experiencing a sharp rebound to hit an all-time high of over $124,000 last month and settling at the current level of $107,000. And according to Trump, there is much more upside ahead.
«There’s no question Bitcoin hits a million dollars,» he predicted emphatically.
«I hear it from people all the time. Should I get cryptocurrency? Did I miss it? Am I too late? And I literally start laughing at them. I go, we haven't even scratched the surface of what Bitcoin is going to be. We haven't even scratched the surface of what digital assets are going to be. This is the time to buy. Volatility is your friend. Buy right now. Shut your eyes. Hold it for the next five years and you are going to do terrifically well.»
Debanking Origin Story
When asked about Trump’s original interest in cryptocurrencies, he admitted that his enthusiasm was largely driven by his family’s troubles from being debanked.
«I think I'd still be building every single hotel around the world in every market. And by the way, I still do a lot of that. But I don't think I would have fallen into cryptocurrency in the same way,» he explained. «It was a combination of them canceling the hell out of us, them coming after us relentlessly simply because my father was in politics, combined with the fact that they were going after all of you.»
Tokyo is the next stop of Trump’s Asia tour, where he is expected to attend a shareholder meeting of Japanese bitcoin treasury company Metaplanet.
