The month of August can be a slow one on the hiring front however the senior moves show no signs of slowing down. Here is a roundup of some of the main moves.
In Hong Kong:
The fund industry veteran and ubiquitous media speaker Mark Konyn has left Cathay Conning Asset Management after more than three years as CEO. It is not known if Konyn will be resurfacing at another established firm or setting up his own offering.
John Goff has been named as head of global markets structuring at Japanese securities firm Nomura.
Francis Chew has been hired as general manager for Heritage Corporate Services in Hong Kong. Mr Chew will be responsible as local country head to develop the firm’s business in the Hong Kong and China markets.
Charade Poon has joined M3 Capital Partners as a Director, based in Hong Kong. Poon joins the Chicago-based real estate private equity firm from China Resources Capital Real Estate Partners, where he had served most recently as Chief Investment Officer.
In Singapore:
HSBC has appointed Soren Beck-Peterson as the new head of distribution, private banks for the Asia Pacific region
Elsewhere in the APAC region:
The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has appointed Adrian Dolin a former ANZ executive as general manager of corporate services and company secretary. Mr Dolin will be responsible for board liaison and member services, corporate governance, and managing the finance, accounting and IT functions of the ICA.
In Sydney, State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has grown its managed fund sales team with the appointment of experienced sales managers Syvanna Croyden and Amanda Conner.
