U.S. giant Citi has appointed a new Country Officer for Australia. The role has also responsibility for the bank’s reputation in the country.
The new Country Officer is David Livingstone who joins Citi from Credit Suisse, where he served as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking and Capital Markets for Europe, Middle East and Africa since 2013. Prior to that, he was CEO of Credit Suisse in Australia. He will take up his new role on June 1 2016, Citi said in a press release to finews.asia.
Livingstone has nearly 30 years of experience in financial markets in Australia, Europe and Asia, having also served as a Managing Director in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs and HSBC.
Strong Earnings
In this role, he will report to Francisco Aristeguieta, CEO of Citi Asia Pacific. Livingstone replaces Stephen Roberts who will assume the role of Chairman of Citi in Australia.
«David Livingstone is well equipped to work with clients, government, regulators and senior management to manage this important franchise,» said Aristeguieta.
