As it continues to reshape its senior management structure, Asian and emerging markets focused British bank Standard Chartered has made another addition.
The bank appointed Roberto Hoornweg as global head, Financial Markets. In this Singapore based role, Hoornweg will manage Standard Chartered’s Financial Markets business globally, which includes Capital Markets, Commodities, and FX, Rates and Credit.
He will report to Simon Cooper, (pictured left) CEO Corporate and Institutional Banking, the bank said in a statement. He was most recently a partner at Brevan Howard Asset Management, he also spent three years at UBS Investment Bank in London where he lead the global Securities Distribution business and co-headed the global Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities division.
His financial markets experience was honed during a 17-year career at Morgan Stanley where he held various senior roles in fixed income derivatives, led the global Emerging Markets Fixed Income & FX business, and was latterly Head of Global Interest Rates, Credit and Currencies. He will take up his new role at the end of January 2017.
