International real estate investment manager Savills Investment Management, has appointed a new Head of Investment in Australia.

The appointment of Lee Tredwell is in line with the firm’s plans to increase its exposure in the Australian real estate market by enhancing its local presence, which was first established with the opening of its Sydney office in May 2016.

Tredwell has had broad and deep experience in multiple asset classes and markets, and has, to date, been involved in over $2.2 billion of capital transactions, the firm said in a press release today.

Over 15 Years of Experience

Kiran Patel 501In his new role he will be responsible for growing Savills Investment Management (Savills IM) Australian investment platform and will report to Kiran Patel, (pictured left) Chief Investment Officer.

Tredwell joins Savills IM with over 15 years of experience in handling various transaction and investment activities in the commercial real estate space, including acquisitions, underwriting and financing through to active asset management, redevelopment and disposals.

Expansion Plan in the Asia-Pacific Region

Prior to this, he spent 10 years at GE Capital Real Estate where he was responsible for GE’s equity and debt investments in Australia & New Zealand, together with fund investments throughout South East Asia. He has also held senior roles at Abacus Property Group and CBRE.

Several Appointments in 2016

Savills IM made a number of hires in Asia in 2016 including hires from Morgan Stanley and appointed a new Director, Fund Management for Singapore, earlier this month.
