In recent months CIMB Group has made a number of senior hires acrossdivisions including a new Head of Foreign Exchange and a Chief Fintech Officer.

Jefferi Hashim has joined CIMB as Deputy CEO of the firm’s Investment Banking unit, financial news service «Bloomberg» reports .

He will become Deputy Head of the Senior Bankers Group, assisting in the oversight of teams in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. Hashim was most recently Malaysia Coverage Head at Credit Suisse.

New Hire at CIMB Fintech this Month

Among other recent hires CIMB added Adhha Abdullah as Deputy Head of Group Investment Banking who was previously CEO of Standard Chartered’s Malaysian Islamic banking arm. The bank also hired Zainul Hashim as Co-Deputy Head of Malaysia for the Senior Bankers Group, a role he will hold alongside Tracy Chen, who has been with the bank since 2001.

Earlier this year finews.asia reported on the recruitment by CIMB of the former Group Head Digital Bank at DBS in Singapore, Olivier Crespin, who has started in his new role with CIMB Fintech this month.

Previous Experience

In another senior move Andrew Leelarthaepin, whose previous experience includes senior roles at Saxo Markets and ADS Securities, has joined CIMB Securities International in the capacity of head of foreign exchange.
