The Swiss-Asian independent life broker for high net worth individuals, has appointed a new CEO in Hong Kong.
With effect from 18 August industry veteran Berry Wong will take on the role of Hong Kong CEO at Charles Monat Associates (CMA). He will report to Yves Guélat, CMA's Group Chief Executive Officer the company said in a statement.
Wong has more than 22 years of experience in the banking and trust industry and before taking on the new position was the Regional Head of Wealth Planning Services, Asia Pacific for BNP Paribas.
Before joining BNP Paribas, he was Senior Director, Wealth Planning Services of HSBC Private Banking with primary focus on expanding and developing the fiduciary services for wealthy family in Asia, including Greater China, The Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
Management Buyout
Wong will also join the Operational Committee in order to enhance the firm’s product and service offering for high net worth clients in Hong Kong, as well as through its ongoing partnership with Willis Towers Watson (WTW).
The announcement of the new Hong Kong CEO coincides with regulatory approval for a management buyout by the executive team at CMA to acquire 100 percent of the Global Wealth Solutions business of WTW.
CMA and WTW will enter into a global arrangement to ensure that CMA clients have access to a global platform to service them on a worldwide basis. CMA will continue to have access to WTW's wide range of human capital and risk management specialist services.
