Insurance giant IAG has snapped up the former innovation head of News Corp Australia as its new chief digital officer.
Insurance Australia Group (IAG) has hired Mark Drasutis who joins the insurance giant's customer labs division. He will report to chief customer officer Julie Batch.
The newly-created job covers a broad range of brands, the firm said in a press release.
Drasutis has spent the past four-and-a-half years with News Corp, initially as its head of innovation, before being promoted to chief product officer for digital in February last year.

Previously, he led consumer products development for Yahoo!’s European, Middle East and Africa teams, based out of the U.K.
IAG introduced Customer Labs as part of a restructuring of the business two years ago. The division incorporates digital and marketing teams and takes the lead on customer experience. Other capabilities include data and insight, pricing, brand architecture, human-centered design and new business incubation and venturing.
