Swiss asset manager GAM is poaching a well-known Asian asset management executive from Schroders in order to build its business in Japan.

Zurich-based GAM said is is hiring Japanese asset management executivve Shizu Kishimoto from rival Schroders in order to bolster its presence in Japan.

Her hires comes shortly after the asset manager appointed Rossen Djounov as its head of Asia, located in Hong Kong.

BNY Mellon Veteran

Kishimoto is one of Asia's most well-known female asset management executives and a veteran of BNY Mellon in Japan. Most recently, she was head of Schroders' intermediaries business in Japan.

«This senior appointment recognises the strategic importance of Japan to the future growth of GAM in Asia,» Djounev said in a statement.
