Willis Towers Watson hired a mergers-and-acquisitions expert from Risk Capital Advisors. The move represents a bid to bolster the advisory firm's insurance expertise.
Willis Towers Watson named Terence Montgomery (pictured left) as lead of mergers and acquisitions transaction solutions in Asia Pacific, effective immediately, according to a media statement on Monday. Based in Hong Kong, he will partner companies in the region by providing solutions, including warranty and indemnity, tax and contingent risk insurance, that allow the transferring of liability to facilitate M&A transactions.
He will also work closely with Willis Towers Watson’s M&A team globally to help mitigate risk and execute transactions. The appointment of Montgomery, a lawyer who is qualified in England, Wales, and Hong Kong, represents Willis Towers Watson’s continued investment in the M&A space. He will report to Namit Mahajan, Head of financial & executive risks in Asia and Alex Keville, M&A practice leader in the unit.
Montgomery, who has been based in Hong Kong for the past ten years, has over 12 years of M&A experience. Previously, he was head of Asia for Risk Capital Advisors, a specialist M&A insurance adviser. Before that, he was a senior M&A lawyer with Norton Rose Fulbright.
