Another twist in the spygate scandal involving UBS top executive Iqbal Khan: while his complaint against his pursuers is still being investigated, all of a sudden, he is at the receiving end of a similar complaint.
The saga involving ex-Credit Suisse banker Iqbal Khan, today co-head of private banking at UBS, seemingly knows no end. Detectives working for Investigo, the company mandated by Credit Suisse to shadow Khan, have filed a complaint both against Khan and his wife as well against police officers based in Zurich, according to a report by «Tagesanzeiger» (report in German, behind paywall).
The investigators accuse Khan of coercion, making false accusations, unlawful detention and misleading the judicial authorities. They also say that the police officers abused their authority and falsified documents.
Two Probes Are Ongoing
The accusations against Khan are by and large the same as he had made against the Investigo staff and which led to the arrest of detectives by the police in September.
The district attorney’s office in Zurich confirmed to the newspaper that it had received a complaint against members of the police and against Iqbal Khan and his wife. The complaint will make the affair even more intricate, with the attorney in Zurich as well as the financial market supervisor (Finma) already involved with their separate probes.
