The strategic appointment continues the Savills Group's focus on Asia, and will help the firm as it develops its proposition for investment in the APAC region, particularly for clients in Malaysia.
Savills Malaysia, as part of its cooperation agreement with Savills Investment Management (IM), has appointed Dougie Crichton as head of asset management, Malaysia, the firm announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Crichton brings to the firm more than two decades of experience in Southeast Asian real estate, across operational management, leadership, project marketing and sustainability. In his new role, he will manage the firm's relationships in the country and help strengthen its asset management capabilities.
He was previously an asset manager at CBRE Asia Pacific, and was involved in the delivery of HSBC's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, and has also held senior roles at Farpoint, part of the Gunung Sewu Group; the Pamfleet Group in Singapore; and Hongkong Land, the announcement said.
Asia Pacific Focus
Looking to build its presence in Asia, the real estate investment firm hired Alex Jeffrey, who took on the role of chief executive officer, based in Singapore, in October 2019.
Its latest hire underlines the group’s commitment to the Malaysian market and desire to scale its presence in Asia, the statement said.
