The Swiss private bank has made senior appointments across its front office and investment advisory teams in Hong Kong and Singapore, according to an announcement on Thursday.
In Hong Kong, UBP has added Frankie Tong as managing director, head of investment consultants, North Asia, since March 2021, as well as senior relationship managers Gigi Liu and Connie Chan.
Tong, who previously led a team of specialists focusing on ultra-high net worth individuals at Deutsche Bank's private wealth business, will oversee UBP's premium advisory proposition in North Asia and lead its team of investment consultants.
Liu has more than 30 years of experience in private banking and was previously a senior RM at the Bank of Montreal's private banking arm. Chan joins from BNP Paribas Wealth Management, where she was a director focusing on Hong Kong and China.
Singapore Team Grows
The private bank has also hired senior wealth practitioner Jasmine Er as market head, key clients for South Asia. Er brings over 30 years of industry experience and joins from Bank of Singapore.
Chua Yng Chng and Yvonne Lim Yee Wen, also from Bank of Singapore, join as relationship manager and client Relationship assistant respectively.
Joining UBP's South Asia investment advisory team is Frank Gan, an experienced multi-asset practitioner who joins from Standard Chartered Private Bank, where he worked in a similar capacity.
Important Market
Asia remains the fastest growing region for UBP and talent is critical to capture ongoing growth opportunities, UBP said in the announcement.
Last year, the Geneva-based firm increased its assets under management by 5.1 percent, or 7.1 billion francs, to 147.4 billion francs ($166.2 billion), while doubling net new money inflows to 8.97 billion Swiss francs.
