Citi’s commercial banking unit will hire 50 employees for the 11-city cluster Greater Bay Area.
The 50 new hires for Greater Bay Area will account for around one-third of its planned hires for mainland China and Hong Kong overall, according to a statement.
It is also part of broader plans by the commercial bank to scale in Asia Pacific, including the hire of close to 350 employees over the next three years, nearly 200 of which will be commercial bankers. Globally, Citi's commercial banking unit will hire 900 in the same period.
Talent Program
In addition, Citi has also launched a talent development program this week with nearly 200 participants.
The participants were chosen from 1,400 second-year student applicants from 290 universities across 27 markets.
High-Performing candidates could be invited to join the American commercial bank’s summer analyst program next year in mainland China or Hong Kong.
