The new head will be in charge of expanding and strengthening the company’s partnership distribution network of bancassurance, brokers, and independent financial advisories.
AIA Singapore has appointed Richard Wyber to the position of chief partnership distribution officer, starting 1 June, subject to regulatory approval, the firm said in a statement on Friday.
His responsibilities include driving the company’s in-branch sales expertise and leading point-of-sale technology as well as promoting AIA’s range of products and services to customers, the company said.
Industry Veteran
Wyber is a 25-year insurance industry veteran. Most recently, he led AIA's Vitality wellness program, establishing strategic partnerships for the program that encouraged members to lead healthier and more active lifestyles.
He also established the company's healthcare business model and led the Life Insurance Association (LIA) Working Group in Singapore to implement recommendations put forth by the Health Insurance Task Force in October 2016 through collaborations with multiple stakeholders including government agencies, life insurers and healthcare providers.
