A 20-year industry veteran will step down from his current private banking role at Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, finews.asia has learned, to relocate for family-related reasons.

Kenny Wai is leaving his current role as co-head of sales for Greater China at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, sources told finews.asia, after first joining the American private bank in July 2019.

Wai remains with the firm but may relocate to Australia for family-related reasons, the source added.

A spokesperson for the bank declined to comment.

20-Year Vet

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Wai worked for UBS for over seven years with a focus on Greater China private banking, including his last role as country team head for Kowloon.

Previously, he also worked for Merrill Lynch in both client-facing and compliance roles.
