UBP has appointed two new senior analysts covering key growth sectors in Asia.

Vey-Sern Ling and Nicolas Wang have joined UBP as senior equity advisors covering technology and healthcare sectors, respectively, both with a focus on China, according to a statement.

Ling was most recently a senior analyst with Bloomberg Intelligence covering the Asia internet sector and previously held senior roles at BNP Paribas and UBS.

Wang joins from Haitong International Research where he was a managing director covering the healthcare and consumer sectors in Asia. Previously, he also held senior roles with Industrial Securities Hong Kong, Daiwa Capital Markets and Macquarie Capital Securities.

Strengthening Research

The latest appointments are part of UBP’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its research and content capabilities in Asia.

Last year, it named Carlos Casanovaas a senior economist Asia in Hong Kong who also supports UBP group’s global investment committee and oversees local economic research.

«Technology and healthcare sectors in the region are developing rapidly and require specialized coverage,» said UBP’s head of region and Asia chief executive Michael Blake. «We believe that it is essential to build our in-depth thematic investment expertise, enabling us to create unique and timely content and to provide high conviction views to our clients.»
