Julius Baer strengthens its Greater China client coverage in Singapore with the hire of a former UOB team head.
Wai Meng Loh joins Julius Baer as a team head for Greater China based in Singapore, according to a statement, reporting to Greater China deputy group head Vincent Ming.
Loh has nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry, most recently from UBO Private Bank where he was last a senior team leader for the North Asia market. Previously, he also held senior roles at AirAsia, Singapore Press Holdings and OCBC.
«[Loh’s] extensive experience will help further develop our Greater China team in Singapore and reflects our commitment to further strengthening our deep talent bench,» the statement added.
Greater China Bankers in Singapore
Political uncertainty, strict Covid measures, and other factors have led banks to increasingly strengthen their coverage of Greater China clients out of Singapore.
BNP Paribas, for example, appointed industry veteran Ruth Chung as its Singapore-based market head for Greater China earlier this month. In November last year, Pictet hired ex-UOB private banker Eric Phua as its North Asia market group head also based in the city-state.
