The current Asia Pacific co-head of sales for Citi Securities Services is relocating to Australia for a different role.
Citi has named Mark England as head of securities services in Australia and New Zealand, according to a statement.
England will succeed long-serving executive Martin Carpenter who will retire after more than 16 years with Citi Australia, including 13 years as head of the securities business.
In his new role, England will relocate to Australia from Hong Kong where he is the current APAC co-head for sales at Citi Securities Services.
England has nearly three decades of experience and previously worked at Citi for over 13 years before spending five years with State Street and then rejoining the American lender.
Securities Services in Australia
Globally, Citi’s securities services unit has a presence in over 60 markets with around $29.9 trillion of assets under custody and administration. Within Australia, it houses 340 staff on and offshore.
«The success of this business is a testament to [Carpenter’s] character and hands-on leadership approach. [He] has played an integral role in Citi’s business for almost two decades. We thank him for his dedication and commitment to success and wish him well in the next chapter of his life,» said Citi Australia and New Zealand CEO Marc Luet.
England is expected to start his role in the third quarter of the year, pending regulatory and approvals.
