Credit Suisse has hired a former Citi investment banker to lead its equity capital markets unit in Australia.
Hamish Whitehead joins Credit Suisse as a managing director and head of equity capital markets (ECM) in Australia, according to a statement.
Based in Melbourne, Whitehead has been tasked with leading the ECM teams as well as client coverage with vice chairman Peter Scott and co-head of investment banking and capital markets Angelo Scasserra.
Whitehead has 25 years of industry experience, currently with Citi where he is its co-head of ECM for Australia and New Zealand. Previously, he also worked at Deutsche Bank in various senior equity-related roles in Melbourne, Sydney and London.
