The family office behind the owners of French luxury house Chanel has hired a new director in Hong Kong.
David Yang joins Mousse Partners as a director in its Hong Kong unit, according to registry filings. In the role, he will be responsible for private equity in China.
Prior to this, Yang had worked at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority for five years in a similar role. Previously, he also worked at European private equity firm CVC Partners.

Mousse Partners is the family office that manages the wealth of Alain and Gerard Wertheimer, the owners of Chanel which is best known for its tweed suits, perfumes, handbags and other luxury products.
The family office invests in stocks, real estate, credit and private equity but it doesn’t disclose the amount of assets under management and its holdings. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the Wertheimers fortune totals around $90 billion.
