The US-based bank chooses a new Bangkok-based leader for its markets franchise in the country.

Citi said that it appointed Nattaphan Assavavisessivakul as the head of its markets business, subject to regulatory approval, according to an announcement sent by the bank on Wednesday.

His task will be to drive business growth in Thailand and he will jointly report to Sue Lee, the US-based bank's head of markets for its Asia South region, and Fourth Narumon, the bank's Thai country officer and banking head.

Extensive Experience

Assavavisessivakul possesses 23 years of financial industry experience and he joined Citi from BNP Paribas in Thailand where he led and managed trading, sales, and treasury teams. Previous to that, he headed the fixed income, commodities, and sales team in Thailand for Bank of America. His first career stint was at KPMG, also in Thailand, where he specialized in business restructuring, financial modeling, and reporting.

«Thailand is a key market for Citi with increased global client flows into the country and increasing overseas investments by local asset managers,» Narumon indicated.
