A 20-year veteran and former Singapore CEO at BNY Mellon has rejoined Bank of America’s payment business in Asia.

Bank of America has appointed Winnie Chen as head of Asia Pacific global payment solution (GPS), according to a statement, effective September. She will be based in Singapore and also become a member of the APAC executive committee. 

In the role, Chen will drive the global payments strategy and execution for the region, deep client relationships and ensure close partnership with Bank of America’s global corporate and investment banking unit.

Chen has more than 20 years of financial services experience, most recently as head of treasury services for APAC and Singapore chief executive at Bank of New York Mellon. She rejoins Bank of America after previously serving as its head of sales for financial institutions and the public sector for Hong Kong and Macau. 

GPS Business in APAC

Chen will oversee Bank of America’s GPS business in 12 APAC markets alongside seven markets via strategic alliances. According to the bank, the region is crucial to its GPS business globally which is worth over $11 billion.

Notable recent highlights include the development of new solutions by leveraging digital innovations such as CashPro Forecasting, a tool that makes it easier to navigate and adopt regulatory requirements.
