BNP Paribas WM Hires Ex-HSBC Alts Expert

The wealth management unit of BNP Paribas has hired the former South Asia alternatives head of HSBC, finews.asia has learned.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed Kah Yi Chung as head of private & alternative investments, Asia, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. In the role, she will spearhead and accelerate the French private bank's strategy by introducing and delivering a unique, differentiated and comprehensive suite of alternatives solutions for clients across Asia. Based in Singapore, she reports to Shafali Sachdev, head of investment services, APAC.

Chung has more than 20 years of industry experience spanning both investment and sales roles. She was most recently working at HSBC where he spent seven years, last as its head of alternatives for South Asia. Previously, she also worked at Partners Group and Eaton Partners where she was responsible for marketing alternatives solutions to institutional investors and family offices in the region.

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the appointment.
