Swiss banking giant UBS augmented its global ultra high net worth business in Hong Kong appointing Johnny Liu, as managing director and client advisor.
Chubb
Chubb appointed Edward Ler as new country president for its general insurance business in Korea. Ler replaces Edward Kopp, who was recently appointed the new country president for Chubb's general insurance business in Thailand.
Deutsche Bank
The German lender hired Aleksandar Pfajfer as head of lending and deposits in Asia, and Tony Tan as head of strategic lending in Asia and head of lending for South- and Southeast Asia and South Asia. Pfajfer joins from Credit Suisse and Tan from Nomura.
UBS
The Swiss bank named Greg Peirce as the sole head of Asia Pacific mergers and acquisitions. Peirce will relocate to Hong Kong from Sydney to take up the role according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. Current M&A co-head Pei Shen Chou will become head of Asia natural resources, where the current head, Ben Yang, will move to UBS Securities to drive coverage in this sector onshore.
Savills Investment Management
Savills said Justin O’Connor, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of its investment arm, will relocate to Hong Kong. The move underscores the growing importance of Asia to the London-based firm.
Deutsche Bank
The German lender hired Rasik Ahuja from Union Bancaire Privee, Sagar Sapra from Standard Chartered and Swapnil Mishra, formerly with BSI Bank. All three are Singapore-based private bankers for non-resident Indian clients.
Standard Chartered
Standard Chartered named Lucy Taylor-Smith as head for strategy. She joins from Manulife Asia, where she held a similar role, the bank said on its website.
