The global asset management arm of Canada's Manulife has hired from a rival to fill a senior Asian role.
Margaret Madden has been appointed managing director, regional head of Product Development of Wealth and Asset Management Asia, (WAM) Manulife, a Manulife Asset Management spokesperson confirmed the move to finews.asia.
In this position, Madden is responsible for establishing product development and management processes, and fostering product ideas and knowledge transfer within the WAM organization. She will be based in Hong Kong.
Asian Expansion
She will also spearhead the development of new objective-oriented investment solutions, a key part of WAM’s strategy in Asia.
Prior to joining the global asset management arm of Canada's Manulife Madden was head of Product Development, Asia Pacific ex Japan at FIL Investment Management (Hong Kong).
Manulife is increasing its footprint in the Asia Pacific region. finews.asia reported the firm is pursuing the growing middle class wealth in the Philippines.
Manulife Asset Management also made changes to its Thai and Malaysian units this year.
