Venture capital firm General Atlantic named a prominent former diplomat to target business in Indonesia.
New York-based investment firm General Atlantic on Tuesday named John Prasetio as a special advisor to promote growth in Southeast Asia.
Formerly Indonesia's ambassador to South Korea, Prasetio is currently commissioner of Indonesia's stock exchange and also holds roles with consultancy Crowe Horwath in Indonesia, SMN Telecommunication, and Global Mediacom.

He will work closely with General Atlantic's team in Southeast Asia to find business opportunities in the region, particularly in Indonesia.
Since setting up in Singapore, the U.S. investment firm has ivested in Singapore-based Internet and mobile platform Sea as well as Indonesian food and beverage retailer PT MAP Boga Adiperkasa which operates Starbucks, Pizza Express, Krispy Kreme, Cold Stone Creamery, and Godiva in Indonesia.
