Patrick Frost, the CEO of Swiss Life, has returned to his job after undergoing cancer treatment. The therapy proved successful, Frost said in a newspaper interview.
Patrick Frost has returned to his job at Swiss Life on a part-time basis and has assumed responsibility for the life insurer again. «To come back full-time right away would be excessive,» Frost told «Neue Zuercher Zeitung» in an interview (behind paywall). He has reached an agreement with the board to gradually increase his workload, starting at a level of 60 to 70 percent of his normal hours.
Frost returned to his desk last week. He intends to be back full-time by mid-October. «It is obviously a great relief to have completed a cancer treatment without complications. It was an intensive period. The therapy was successful,» the Swiss Life executive said.
Frost in March told employees at the Swiss company about the cancer diagnosis he had received. At the time, he had said that he intended to return to fulfill his duties after the summer vacation. Swiss Life CFO Thomas Buess had been put in charge of the business in the absence of Frost.
