Switzerland's second largest bank has promoted from within to fill a senior Asian role.

Financial news service Bloomberg reports that Jonathan Jenkins has been promoted to head of Asia Pacific Equity Sales at Credit Suisse, based in Hong Kong.

Jenkins was most recently head of Equities for Singapore and head of Equities Sales for South Asia, based in Singapore. He has been with the Swiss institution since 2007 and has held various roles, including head of Equity Sales in Hong Kong.

Investment Bank Slide

Al Park, who was previously head of Asia Pacific Equities Sales, has reportedly left the firm.

Recent results showed that Credit Suisse's securities unit in Asia produced its third loss running, though it narrowed the loss to just 8 million francs in the second quarter.

Why? Revenue crumbled by more than one-third, as fixed income and equities both slid. Helman Sitohang also didn't have a 65 million franc benefit that he did a year-ago from revaluing hybrid derivative instruments.
