Management consulting firm Synpulse strengthened its Asian coverage with the hire of a new senior advisor.

The former global head of Private Banking at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Michael Benz, has been appointed as senior advisor to the firm in Hong Kong.
Until end of 2015, Benz was global head of Private Banking at SCB. During his tenure, Private Banking was established as one of four independent client businesses with a strategy focussing on entrepreneurs in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Critical Mass
Prior to joining SCB, he was the Asia Pacific CEO of BOA / Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He was instrumental to the successful sale and integration of the business from Merrill Lynch into Julius Baer where he was later appointed Chairman for Asia in 2013.
Between 2003 and 2010 Benz acted as regional head of Products & Services in UBS Wealth Management, leading the build-up of their product platform across investments, financing and wealth planning in Asia Pacific. Prior to that he held various regional roles in UBS Asset Management and Treasury.
«Michael's appointment is timely as Synpulse reaches its critical size of 100 consultants in Hong Kong and Singapore. His breadth of expertise and experience in Wealth Management will support our next level of growth and regional expansion,» said Yves Roesti, Partner APAC.
