Zurich Insurance appointed the head of its life business in Indonesia as the new chief executive officer of its international business. His predecessor, Clive Baker, decided to leave the company.

Zurich Insurance named Peter Huber as the new CEO of its international division, the company said in a statement on Thursday. The unit comprises the life businesses based on the Isle of Man and in the Middle East as well as the International Corporate Solutions division.

Huber will report to Patrick Manley, chief administrative officer of the Emea region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), Zurich also said.

Vast Experience in Asia

Huber joined Switzerland’s largest insurer as CEO Zurich Life Singapore in 2013. In August 2015, he took responsibility for Zurich Topas Life Indonesia. Before signing his contract with Zurich four years ago, Huber worked for Swiss Re, the world’s second-largest reinsurer.

At Swiss Re, Huber was managing director in the reinsurance division in Switzerland. Prior to this, he worked as a regional general manager for Allianz in Singapore. He also spent a decade working for Swiss Life.

Huber will replace Clive Baker, who decided to leave Zurich Insurance after five years as CEO at the international division. Zurich didn’t say where Baker is moving to.
