A former executive director and head of emerging companies research at UBS joined Celeste Funds Management. The Sydney-based fund manager specializes in active investments.
Martin Byers signed a contract as senior industrial analyst with Celeste Funds Management, the company said in a statement today. Along with Byers' appointment, Celeste also promoted senior investment analyst Paul Biddle to portfolio manager.
Byers, who worked for the UBS investment bank in Sydney for more than 11 years, is an emerging companies specialist. Prior to his spell with UBS, he was a senior equity analyst at the Royal Bank of Scotland, a technology analyst at Principal Global Investors and an equity analyst at BT Funds Management.
Celeste is an active equities manager with about $460 million in assets under management. It's majority-owned by its investment team with the remaining 27.5 percent owned by Pacific Current Group.
