ING announced the appointment of a new head of corporate client coverage, transaction services and corporate finance Asia.
The Dutch bank has named veteran corporate banker Eddy Henning to support ING’s ambition to expand its Asia client base, the firm said in a statement. As of 1 January 2018. Henning succeeds Manuel R. Salak III, who retired in July 2017 after 23 years at ING.
Henning joins ING after 28 years at Deutsche Bank. Most recently he was Asia Pacific (APAC) head of multinational corporation coverage (MNC) in Singapore where he was responsible for corporate clients in the Asia Pacific region across 14 countries.
Asian Expansion Desire
From April 2007 to February 2013, he was head of Corporate Banking Coverage in China, where he was also a member of the Corporate Banking Coverage Executive Committee for Asia. He has also held regional management positions across Deutsche Bank’s German businesses, including as managing director, Regional Head of German Large Corporates West based in Cologne.
In his new role he will provide senior banker coverage for Asian corporate clients and MNCs in ING’s Asian offices, and will also help to grow ING’s outbound activities to Europe. He will also be responsible for capital structuring and Advisory Asia.
His appointment comes as ING seeks to expand its operations in China, increasing coverage in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. Henning will report to Gerrit Stoelinga, CEO of ING Wholesale Banking in Asia.
