VP Bank appointed a new chief operating officer to oversee the digitization of the company. The manager joins the Vaduz-based bank from Julius Baer.
Urs Monstein, 55, will take a seat on the executive board in keeping with his role as COO, VP Bank said in a statement today. His appointment is pending regulatory approval in the Principality of Liechtenstein.
VP Bank is filling an important gap its executive setup. So far, CEO Alfred Moeckli and CFO Siegbert Naescher were in charge of IT and operations, but only on an interim basis. With Monstein, the bank succeeded in finding a banker with the required profile for the job.
Development of Digital Services
Monstein at Julius Baer worked as global head of IT and chief information officer. Previously, he was the COO of Bank Ehinger & Armand von Ernst in Zurich and also has a past at UBS. He will start at VP Bank on June 1, 2018, at the latest.
Fredy Vogt, the chairman of VP Bank, expects Monstein to help the bank develop the digital infrastructure necessary to reflect the increasing importance of IT-based processes.
