A day after her sudden departure as top Asian executive at Standard Chartered Bank, Anna Marrs confirmed her next move.
Based in London, Anna Marrs will take up the role of president, global commercial services, at American Express. She will report directly to Chairman and CEO Steve Squeri. American Express, best known for its credit card, announced the move in a statement on Friday.
The departure of Standard Chartered's regional CEO for Asean and South Asia and head of commercial and private banking, as reported by finews.asia, surprised the market.
Marrs will continue in her current role as regional CEO for ASA until the end of May, when she will hand over regional responsibilities to Judy Hsu, CEO for Singapore and Asean markets, as previously announced. Hsu will remain CEO for Singapore until a successor is appointed.
