UBS Asset Management has underscored the seriousness of its ambitions for China with its latest appointment.
A veteran has been appointed as UBS Asset Management’s new China head. Raymond Yin starts as Head of China Onshore and Managing Director this week, UBS said in a memo.
He will be responsible for leading the execution of UBS AM's China strategy, including the further build-out of UBS AM's onshore wholly foreign-owned enterprises(WFOEs) and continued development of the firm's joint venture with State Development Investment Corporation (SDIC). He will be based in Shanghai (pictured above) and report to Rene Buehlmann, Head of Asia Pacific, UBS AM.

Yin has 26 years of experience in financial services working in Shanghai, Hong Kong and New York. He was most recently Partner and Head of the International Division for Shanghai Chongyang Investment Management and CEO of Chongyang International Asset Management. He spent much of his career at Goldman Sachs including as Head of China Equities. He received a Computer Science BA cum laude from Harvard University.
