After 13 years at Swiss private bank Julius Baer, the Head of Intermediaries for Greater China has apparently left the company. With immediate effect, a successor has been appointed.
Well-known banker Pamela Phua, Julius Baer's Head of Intermediaries for Greater China, has left after 13 years working at the bank, according to information obtained by finews.asia. She is a renowned figure in the External Asset Manager (EAM) space in Asia. Former Julius Baer CEO Boris Collardi joined Swiss private bank Pictet as a partner in 2018. Shortly after, there were rumors in the industry that Pictet cleared its EAM team in Asia just to welcome her.
Phua has 20 years of international banking experience, gained mainly in the private banking sector. She has worked in London, Zurich, Singapore and Hong Kong for some of the world's best known financial institutions including Bank Julius Baer, Credit Suisse Private Banking and BNP Paribas.
Julius Baer did not comment on the departure but told finews.asia that Sandro Treier has been appointed as the bank's new Head of Intermediaries for Greater China, with immediate effect.
