The bank is hosting a women-focused virtual career fair for technologists in October to fill over 50 technology jobs in Singapore.
The «Women in Technology» event offers vacancies for women technologists across various levels and roles, such as data engineers, scrum masters, full-stack developers, solution architects, and site reliability engineers, the bank said in an announcement on Tuesday.
Participants will have to undertake an online assessment by October 19. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online hiring day on October 31, where they will learn more about the bank's approach to gender diversity and building a career as a female technologist at DBS, before attending a virtual interview.
Addressing Under-Representation
With the lack of representation of women in the technology space globally, DBS said is looking to grow its pipeline of female technology talent and to encourage more women in Singapore to build a career in technology.
«Having balanced gender representation is also pivotal to our ongoing digital transformation, as it allows us to tap on diverse ideas to develop differentiated and exceptional experiences for our customers,» Soh Siew Choo, DBS managing director and head of consumer banking and big data analytics technology, said in the announcement.
Last year, the bank launched the Hack2Hire-Her hackathon and recruitment drive targeting women, which resulted in applications from women growing to over 30 percent, as compared to 5 percent in previous years, and a fivefold increase in the number of offers made to women.
