The platform has brought on board a trio with expertise in financial platforms, innovation and digital technologies to propel the growth of AFIN and its flagship product, API Exchange (APIX).

The Asean Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) has appointed Serey Chea and Olayinka David-West as advisors and Latha Ayyar as an independent director to its board, it announced in a statement on Monday.

Ayyar brings extensive experience in pioneering new and emerging technologies to transform business models. She is the managing director of Barclays Global Services, based in Mumbai, and previously was COO of Bharthi Axa Life Insurance, after working for 25 years at Citi.

Chea is the assistant governor and director general of central banking of the National Bank of Cambodia, while David-West is the associate dean of Lagos Business School.

Collaborative Platform

AFIN was established in 2018 by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the World Bank Group’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the ASEAN Bankers Association.

It runs APIX, a global cloud-based digital platform and sandbox that enables financial institutions and fintech to partner and deploy solutions collaboratively.
