UBS Global Wealth Management has hired former executives from HSBC and Credit Suisse to lead its Asia Pacific capital markets unit, finews.asia has learned.

Nicola Pantone and Rodolphe Larqué were named co-heads of capital markets in APAC, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia, effective October this year. 

The two succeed Conrad Huber who has taken on a new role as business sector head for global wealth management (GWM) China, Singapore, Indonesia and Japan International. 

Hong Kong-based Pantone and Singapore-based Larqué report functionally to co-head distribution IB global markets Patrick Grob. Pantone will report locally to Dan Murphy, co-head of distribution, IB Global Markets APAC, and Larqué will report locally to Eric Lafon, co-head of distribution, IB global markets.

Wealth Veterans

Pantone has over 20 years of experience in capital markets and derivatives, joining most recently from HSBC where he as its APAC head of wealth sales. Previously, he held various equity derivatives sales roles including with Société Générale and Deutsche Bank.

Larqué has nearly 20 years of financial and leadership experience across Asia, Europe and America. He was most recently the APAC head of managed solutions APAC and Singapore products head at Credit Suisse’s private banking arm. Previously, he also had 10 years of experience at Credit Suisse structuring and advising on structured products. 

A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
