Underlining its ongoing commitment to its wealth management business in the region, Swiss bank UBS has announced the appointment of an industry veteran in Singapore.
In a note to finews.asia UBS stated that Tracey Woon will join as Vice Chairman for UBS Wealth Management in Asia. Woon will join UBS in the third quarter of the year and be based in Singapore. She will report to Joe Stadler, Head of Global UHNW, and Edmund Koh, Head of Wealth Management, Asia Pacific.
Woon has in excess of 30 years of experience in the financial industry in the region. Most recently, she was Vice Chairman of ASEAN corporate and investment banking at Citigroup where she was responsible for its most important clients across ASEAN. She has worked on a wide range of corporate finance transactions from equity fund raising to debt offerings and advisory work, including take-overs of public companies in Singapore and Malaysia.
Before joining Citigroup in 2004, she was Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking for Singapore & Malaysia at Merrill Lynch. Woon is a trained lawyer with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Singapore.
