BNY Mellon Investment Management further expands distribution in Hong Kong with two new hires for its institutional and intermediary business.
Barnaby Jones joins as a vice president for institutional distribution, reporting to Eric Yu, head of Greater China, institutional distribution, according to a statement. In his new role, Jones will focus on sovereigns, pensions, endowments and insurance firms in Hong Kong, Macau and select markets in South East Asia.
Jones has nearly 10 years of experience in institutional distribution, including seven in Asia. He was most recently an associate director of M&G Investment’s APAC institutional business, where he managed relationships with clients across Asia Ex-Japan, representing the company’s fixed income, equity, multi-asset and alternative strategies.
Intermediary Hire
Joining Jones in Hong Kong is Victor Lam, who has been named vice president for intermediary distribution, reporting to Nicolas Kopitsis, Asia ex-Japan head of intermediary distribution. Lam will focus on existing relationships and new relationships with private banks and retail channels in Hong Kong.
Lam has over 15 years of experience in sales, advisory and relationship management specifically in private banking and asset management. He was most recently an associate director at Value Partners and prior to that, an assistant vice president for business development at Pinebridge Investments.
