Credit Suisse’s asset management chief Ulrich Koerner is confirmed as the bank’s new CEO and successor to Thomas Gottstein.
Ulrich Koerner has been named Credit Suisse’s new CEO during the reporting of its second-quarter results, according to a statement released by the bank Wednesday.
Thomas Gottstein, 58, will step down and leave the bank after taking over as CEO in February 2020.
This marks the end of Gottstein’s tenure, a time heavily marked by the collapses of the Archegos family office and Greensill supply chain finance funds.
Rejoining Credit Suisse
Koerner rejoined Credit Suisse in March last year after previously working at UBS as an advisor to the CEO from 2019 to 2020 and head of asset management from 2014 to 2019. Previously, he was a senior executive at Credit Suisse Financial Services and a consultant at McKinsey.
