Singapore’s DBS has announced the shift of a Hong Kong board director to join the group board.
DBS appoints David Ho to the board of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank, according to a statement. Ho will step down from the board of DBS Bank (Hong Kong), on which he has served since March 2019.
«I’ve had the privilege of working closely with [Ho] in his capacity as a board member of DBS Bank Hong Kong, and his deep knowledge of technology and insights on doing business in China have been invaluable,» said DBS chairman Peter Seah.
Tech Veteran
Ho is the chairman and founder of Kiina Investment, a venture capital company that invests in startups in the tech, media and telecommunications sectors. He also serves as a board member of industrial chemicals firm Air Products and Chemical, semiconductor firm Qorvo, Sun Life Financial and Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada.
Previously, Ho also held various leadership roles at Nokia, Nortel Networks and Motorola as well as directorships at other companies across industries including semiconductors, telecommunications and shipping.
«[Ho’s] expertise and experience will complement that of the main boards as DBS continues to reimagine banking and set itself apart as an Asia-centric banking leader,» Seah added.
