BNP Paribas Asset Management in Asia promoted from within in appointing a new deputy chief executive officer.
With effect from 1 September Rakesh Vengayil takes over the role of chief executive officer Hong Kong, BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPAM) from Tino Moorrees.
Vengayil first joined BNP Paribas Group in India in 1998, he moved to the asset management business in 2004 as Vice President and Head of Asset Management Operations in BNP Paribas Mutual Fund India.
In his latest role Vengayil will report to Hong Kong based Ligia Torres, chief executive officer Asia Pacific at BNPAM, and will assist her in overseeing strategic projects and the company’s day-to-day business activities in the region.
Moorrees, according to the bank, has decided to pursue other interests and opportunities outside of the company.
