Legal and General's investment arm has poached a new head for Asia from a fellow U.K. asset manager.
The investment arm of London-based Legal and General named David Hoantee Peng as head of Asia Pacific, excepting Japan, the company said in a media statement on Thursday. Peng was most recently with rival Standard Life Aberdeen, where he was head of Asia for more than seven years.
«David’s insight will be invaluable as we deepen and strengthen our investor and client relationships in the region. His appointment reflects our long-term commitment to expanding our foothold in the Asia Pacific region,» said Roger Bartley, vice-chairman investments.
Legal and General's asset management arm launched in Asia nearly five years ago and currently operates out of Hong Kong and Tokyo. Peng is an old hand in Asian asset management, and a seven-year veteran of Standard Life Aberdeen who was previously with Blackrock.
